Brief introduction of oil refinery
Oil refinery plant refers to a series of refining processes that can remove phospholipids, FFA, pigment, off-flavor and other impurities in the oil. Edible oil refinery or vegetable oil refinery is essential to ensure removal of gums, waxes, phosphatides and free fatty acid (F. F.A.) from the oil. 1.Neutralization pot: For acid refining, alkali refining and water washing.
2.Decolorization pot: Bleach oil and remove pigment from oil.
3.Deodorization pot: Remove odor from oil(Made of stainless steel).
4.Heat conduction oil furnace: Provide heat energy for production,the temperature can reach 280Ā°C.

Main process of oil refinery
Degumming process :a. Water Degumming: Hydratable gums are removed by treating oils with water and separating the gums. The gums can be dried to produce lecithin.
b. Acid Degumming: Non-Hydratable gums are removed by treating oils with acids and separating the gums.
2. Neutralizing process :The purpose of Neutralizing Vegetable Oils is to remove Free-Fatty Acids (FFAs). Traditionally, FFAs are treated with caustic soda (NaOH). The reaction produces Soaps which are separated from the oil. Because trace amounts of soaps remain in the oil, the oil is either washed with water or treated with Silica.
3. Bleaching process :The purpose of Bleaching is to remove color pigments contained in Vegetable Oils. The oil is treated with Bleaching Clays that adsorb the color pigments. The clay is filtered and the clean bleached oil is stored for further processing.
4. Deodorizing process :The purpose of Deodorizing Vegetable Oils is to remove odor substances.
