pre-press means to make the raw material to the condition required by oil press by a series work of cleaning, husking, peeling, crushing, softening, flaking, puffing, wet and hot treating, and drying. Pre-press is widely used in raw materials of high oil content. Such as: peanut, sunflower seed, rapeseed, castor bean, corn germ, tea seed, rice bran and sesame.

To get all oil pressed out, we need to take solvent extracting method. There are many advantages in solvent extraction:a). high oil pressing rate, oil residual is no more than 1% in cake,
b). convenient for big capacity production,
c). high automatic control,
d). closed production condition, low temperature press, clean working condition,
e). easy access to solvent.
The vegetable oil obtained by pressing or leaching method,which contains water, mechanical impurities, fat-soluble impurities, peptizing impurities, trace impurities, etc. ,failed to meet the edible standards, so called "hair oil".
Refining refers to remove the impurities in crude oil, to get a good quality of the first class of edible oil.
Oil pressed from pre-press and solvent extrating are both crude oil. For using in cooking, crude oil should be refined for edible oil for human being. Refiney section is mainly the parts for Degumming and Neutralizing,Bleaching,De-waxing, and De-odorizing. Then refined oil can be used directly for daily usage.
