The extruded products have high moisture content at die exit. These are taken away by downstream conveying system to dryer for drying. A feed spreader located at dryer inlet distributes the extruded product evenly across the whole dryer width for even drying and moisture content.
The air used in drying is first heated up in the heat exchanger area, then circulating around and thru the dryer screen, removed heat and moisture at the same time. A small portion of wet air is exhausted and replaced by fresh cold air bring in that is being heated up by the heat exchangers. Majority of these dry hot air is then recycled, so as to reduce energy consumption.
The dried extrudates at dryer exit are then transferred to cooler for cooling.
